Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a body-based approach to trauma recovery.
Rather than focusing on how your body looks or trying to change your experience, we explore what it’s like for you to be with your body.
TCTSY has been proven to be as effective as talk therapy, but some people choose to integrate TCTSY with talk therapy to deepen their relationship with their body.
Why I Practice TCTSY
Traditional talk therapy often asks us to use our thoughts to control our body’s automatic responses. From what we know about trauma, that can actually get in the way of the parts of the brain that support recovery.
Instead of trying to control our body’s automatic responses with our thoughts, TCTSY focuses on noticing, exploring, and choice-making.
Through TCTSY, I’ve noticed:
