Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Heal Through Movement

No Expectations. No Pressure.

Just you and your body.

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a body-based approach to trauma recovery.

Rather than focusing on how your body looks or trying to change your experience, we explore what it’s like for you to be with your body.

TCTSY has been proven to be as effective as talk therapy, but some people choose to integrate TCTSY with talk therapy to deepen their relationship with their body.

Why I Practice TCTSY

Traditional talk therapy often asks us to use our thoughts to control our body’s automatic responses. From what we know about trauma, that can actually get in the way of the parts of the brain that support recovery.

Instead of trying to control our body’s automatic responses with our thoughts, TCTSY focuses on noticing, exploring, and choice-making.

Through TCTSY, I’ve noticed:

  • Growing self-trust

  • Greater capacity to sit with my emotions

  • More authentic relationships with myself and others

  • Responding to my body’s signals instead of overriding them

  • Reconnection with parts of myself I’ve lost touch with

Through TCTSY, You Might Notice:

  • Where you tend to hold tension

  • What happens in your body before overwhelm

  • Moments where different choices feel accessible

  • Shifts in movement, rest, or how you show up in relationships.

How It Works

I’ll offer options for forms and movement.
You decide what, if anything, you’d like to explore.
You could have your camera on or off.
You could pause or rest at any time.
You’re always in control of how you participate.
