Insurance

I practice as an out-of-network (OON) provider. Depending on your specific insurance plan and benefits, you might be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance provider for our time together. Many people I work with choose to submit claims and receive reimbursement for our sessions.

Sometimes accessing insurance benefits can feel overwhelming. If you decide to use your OON benefits during our work together, I'll be available to support you through the process.

Exploring Your Benefits

If you'd like support with this process, I'm happy to complete an OON benefits check for you. To begin, please send your insurance information to me by email and I'll share an estimate of your OON benefits as soon as possible.

If you prefer to explore your OON benefits on your own, you have a few options:

1. You could contact your insurance provider directly and request a summary of your OON benefits.

2. You could use Mentaya's Benefits Check Tool. Mentaya is a HIPAA-compliant claims platform that helps people access OON reimbursement. My private link to Mentaya's Benefits Check Tool is at the bottom of this page.

Using Your Benefits

There are two ways you might submit claims to your insurance provider:

1. Monthly Superbill: I'm happy to create a superbill for you each month at no cost. You could then submit the superbill directly to your insurance provider to request reimbursement.

2. Claim Submission Through Mentaya: If you'd like to have support with this process, I'm also able to submit claims to your insurance provider through Mentaya on a monthly basis. Please note that if you choose this option, there is a 5% processing fee per claim directly from Mentaya.

Once claims are submitted, your insurance provider will review them and determine whether reimbursement is available to you based on your plan.

A Few Considerations...

When submitting claims, insurance providers require certain details. This might include a mental health diagnosis, the type of service provided (CPT codes), session dates, and billing details

Occasionally, insurance providers might also request documentation to show medical necessity. If they make this request, I'll reach out to you to see how you'd like to move forward. It's entirely up to you whether you'd like to share these documents or keep them private. If you choose to share these documents, I will carefully remove any unnecessary information and any details you prefer not to share. I will also email the documents to you for review and approval before submitting them.

A note on TCTSY:

If we are practicing Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) together without integrating mental health therapy, I won’t be able to assist with submitting claims to your insurance provider.
